Ten Little Rubber Ducks is based on a true event involving rubber ducks that were swept over board from a cargo ship. This kids book involves animals that Bean (our son) finds interesting from different parts of the globe. We had to read Ten Little Rubber Ducks over and over again after a trip to San Diego where we saw ducks, seals, dolphins, sea gulls and other animals, all of which are mentioned in the book. Ten Little Rubber Ducks is truly an exciting and educational voyage of discovery.

Best Books For Kids Review
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a colorful best selling book for kids, infants and toddlers by Eric Carle. This kids book was written, believe it or not, 40 years ago, and it sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was translated into more than 20 languages. I have listed this book in best books for infants, although it could be placed in the best books for toddlers too. Any title that could be introduced, as early as, six to twelve months, I placed on the best books for infants.

Reading To Infants Benefits
The Very Hungry Caterpillar establishes a good foundation for early child development. This book for kids introduces basic counting, which covers numbers one through five. Also, The Very Hungry Caterpillar teaches kids days of the week, popular fruit names, different types of foods, a few basic colors and a concept of day and night. All in all, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, in my opinion, has to be one of the most comprehensive learning tools for one year old babies and young toddlers.

About The Very Hungry Caterpillar
I like the visual additions to the kids book, such as, this hungry caterpillar "ate" through several pages and made a few holes through the fruits. The publisher recommends this book for one year old kids and older. However, we started reading this kids book to our Bean before his first birthday. He enjoyed it very much all the way through the age of three. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was a part of Read For The Record program, where readings of the same book occur simultaneously all over the world.
